Insanity Max 30 Update

I can't believe how much stronger I have gotten in these few short weeks that I have been doing Insanity Max 30.  I love the fact that I can now do pushups!  When I first began my fitness journey I could hardly do a jumping jack let alone a pushup.  It feels great to finally find something that works for me!

I have had to make a few changes in my life to get to where I am right now.  For awhile, I was like that kid who didn't get his way.  I felt like throwing myself down on the ground and kick and scream because I didn't want to make the change. Looking back on it now I am so happy that I did and you will be to, I promise!

I know, it's not easy to make the time to workout. I know, it's not easy to eat right all of the time. I know, because for the last 7 years I didn't do these things either. I was full of excuses that I didn't have the time, it was to expensive to eat healthy and drink Shakeology, I was to tired all of the time. I had to get rid of all of the negative and focus on the positives in my life. I have learned to follow a schedule and I live by it. Yes, there are those times when unexpected things come up, but for the most part I follow my daily schedule. Yes, I schedule my workouts just like you would schedule your hair appointment. We all have the same amount of time each day, it is up to you as to what you do with your time.

Insanity Max:30 Meal Planning for Week 2

I have always planned out our meals a week in advance because we live so far from town.  We live about 70 miles southeast of Bend Oregon.  I typically only make that long drive into town twice a month, so I have to try and be really organized. I keep a magnetized grocery list on our refrigerator so I wont forget anything we may need.

It took me a while to get in the swing of things and learn how to get organized and utilize my time wisely. For starters if there is a program on tv that I want to watch, I'll program it so that I can watch it over the weekend.  I will say, there are times that I do not stick 100% to what is on my weekly meal plan, but I always eat according to my meal plan for the workout program that I am following for either 30 or 60-days.

On Sundays, I like to sit down after all of the cows, horses, chickens, dogs and cats are fed and plan out my weeks worth of meals.  I am a very visual person, so it makes me feel good to see everything typed out on my weekly calendar.  Once I am finished, I print it out and put in on my refrigerator so when I get up in the morning I can get whatever I need out of the freezer.

Week 2: Meal Plan

When choosing my snacks I try to eat my fruit before lunch, I like to have my natural sugars earlier in the day.  I also like to sprinkle cinnamon on my apple slices when I do not have any almond butter.

Are you ready to make a change and want to give this a try?  Do you need help with accountability?  I am hosting a challenge group starting on December 26th and there is still times to reserve your spot!

INSANITY MAX:30

December 1st, 2016
Day #1 Insanity Max:30, 1st day was the Cardio Challenge. Each workout you are pushing yourself to MAX OUT, you write the time down that you needed a break, then jump back in and finish the workout. I MAXED OUT at 15:33 then jumped in and had to modify some of the exercises to finish.
I love how you are competing with yourself to do better each day. "You are not going to get the butt you want by sitting on it."

Day #2 INSANITY MAX 30: TABATA POWER AND 10 MINUTE AB WORKOUT. I MAXED OUT at 16:29 on the Tabata workout, then jumped back in and modified to finish. The AB workout was a killer, I MAXED OUT at 3:41 and modified to finish.

My first workout of the day was actually helping Madeline get dressed in all of her winter clothes so she could play outside. That one I didn't MAX OUT I TAPPED OUT! Now, Wyatt and Madeline are both playing outside and having a great morning.

It has been a long week and sometimes you might feel like skipping out on a workout, just remember why you started in the first place. Reason #21: No more trying to hide in baggy clothes. You got this!

My Transformation Story

I have had these photos ready for awhile now, about a month, but I have been searching for the courage to post it. It is difficult for me to look at my before photo because it reminds me of how lost I was after the passing of my mom. I tried to put on a happy face, but a big piece of me went with my mom. I turned to food to try and fill the void and as you can see, I gained a ton of weight. It got to where I was not doing the things that I enjoyed, I didn't want to go anywhere and I was tired all of the time. It took me 4 years after my mom passed to finally get my health and fitness under control. I knew that I needed to make a change but I wasn't sure where to start. I had been watching a friend on Facebook for 4 years and she was always posting her workouts on her page. I didn't know at the time that she was a Beachbody Coach. I reached out to her in February and she told me all about it. I signed up on the spot to join her challenge group. I also decided to become a coach as well, I knew that I wanted to help other men and women who may be in the same situation as myself. Being able to help others has helped to fill that hole that was left when we lost mom. When I get a text from one of my challengers that says, "I lost 10 pounds this month and I feel great, thank you for pushing me,"

I feel great that I can motivate and encourage them to reach their goals. My mom taught me to never give up, no matter how bad it gets, you might be knee deep in shit but you can make your way through it. So that is where I am right now, knee deep but I am not stopping until I reach my goals. I am on a mission to be the best version of myself possible. Thank you to my family, friend, fellow challengers and my coach Andrea Otley you all are the best and mean more to me than you know. ðŸ’•
